Track to Trend

Trends tend to come and go, and there’s always too many to keep up with. But, a trend that has come, and continues to be inspiration is “atleisure” (casual, comfortable clothing designed to be suitable both for exercise and everyday wear). However track pants have fallen in and out of fashion, from the 80’s when Run DMC sported the look to the early 2000’s when Madonna made the Juicy Couture tracksuit hot, and of course now we have Kylie dripping in Puma. I mean who wouldn’t want to feel at ease while tackling their day. From the gym to the streets, and sometimes even the office wearing your athletic gear is now acceptable in most all settings. I wanted to give this look a go with my new Nike track pants! I took a visit to the Perez Art Museum Miami where you get to experience contemporary art with a sick view to go along with it. Located along Biscayne Blvd. you get the beauty of Miami, both alluring and charming. Every second Saturday of the month they have free admission, so make a day out of it and even visit Museum Park located right next it!

There are many directions to take with the styling on track pants. Make them ultra feminine with lingerie and a sleek pair of heels for a girl’s night out. Or try a badass edgy look with a white tank and a leather jacket. Another option is to go classic, meaning sporty. Stick to the roots of this look and edit it to make it your own! Which in this case is precisely what I was aiming for.

Function and fashion are two things I always aim for. Which is why I decided to keep it casual and add a light and airy graphic tee from Rag & Bone.

Mixing high and low fashion is also a basic rule I like to abide by. By throwing on my Saint Laurent sneakers it elevated the look from track to trend! No heels, no sandals, just straight comfort. Yes, I said it COMFORT!
